ABOUT
My architectural adventures derived from a childhood fascination with construction toys, painting and geometry —a curiosity that gradually grew into a deeper questioning of how societies are shaped in correlation with their living environments.
During my architectural studies in Greece, I had the opportunity to engage in several enriching experiences; I participated in academic projects focused on the systematic analysis of traditional buildings and settlements, which significantly deepened my appreciation of architectural heritage. Additionally, I worked as a tutor, teaching free-hand drawing and digital design to adults. I also collaborated on the design of industrial projects and contributed to the creation of posters and graphics.
Later, I worked as an architect in Athens and on independent projects in Crete, gaining valuable experience in various architectural works. However, my awareness of the role traditional design practices play in everyday life, along with my desire for a Design-by-Research approach, led me to explore urban scale. I developed a strong interest in accessibility, inclusion, space commoning, and participatory planning methods —where local communities involvement is key to shaping the spaces where they coexist.
In addition to my architectural and urban design studies, I have been trained as a classical pianist since the age of five. The relationship between architecture and music has often intersected in my academic research, papers, and projects, with a focus on soundscapes, acoustics, psychoacoustics, the spatial arrangement of performance spaces, and performance psychology.
WHAT I DO
I am an urban designer and architect with a deep interest in creating spaces that are functional, inclusive and accessible to all. I strive to ensure that each design is site-specific, considering the unique historical, sociocultural, and environmental characteristics of its location, while also addressing critical factors such as climate challenges, biodiversity, gender perspectives, and sustainability.
With a focus on participatory planning, I believe in the power of collaboration, working closely with communities and the users of the spaces I design. My work is driven by the belief that design should foster connection and understanding between people and their surroundings, always keeping a human-centered perspective at the forefront.
In addition to my architectural work, I am a pianist and piano tutor. Music enriches my creative process, providing a unique perspective on rhythm and structure —elements I integrate into my designs. I am particularly fascinated by soundscapes, acoustics, and multisensory, interactive environments.
I studied Architectural Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), followed by further studies in Sweden, where I earned a Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Sustainable Urban Design from the School of Architecture at LTH, Faculty of Engineering, Lund University, and a Master of Arts in Piano Performance from the Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University.
